Other Fundraisers

The PTA is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) charitable organization, governed by it’s own bylaws and that of the district, state, and national PTA organizations. The PTA is a parent-sponsored and funded organization whose mission is to positively impact, support and enhance the overall learning environment at Sage Canyon.

The PTA has a 3 to 1 fundraising guideline… for every one fundraiser the PTA is to fund 3 programs; such as – assemblies, character education, healthy choices education, Playground Partners, walk to school days, 5th & 6th grade leadership programs, classroom mini grants, Family Nights, garden club, yearbooks, study buddy program, teacher appreciation week, and more.

All monies raised by the PTA are to fund programs, not limited to those listed above. All PTA monies are distributed per general assembly votes, fully accounted for, and audited bi-annually according to bylaws.

Del Mar Schools Education Foundation

The Del Mar Schools Education Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) charitable organization. The Foundation was founded to raise the necessary funds to provide Del Mar Union School District students with enrichment programs such as science, music, art, technology, and physical education. It is governed by a Board of Directors that is comprised of parent volunteers from each of the District elementary schools and community members.

All monies raised through Sage Canyon for the foundation are put into an account specifically to subsidize the salaries of Sage Canyon ESC teachers.

Friends of the Library (Library Services)

Friends of the Library raises money to subsidize the purchasing of library books and materials as determined by the Friends of the Library and school administration. All monies raised by the Friends of the Library are managed by the Del Mar Union School District.

Their events include:

* Mrs. Nelson’s Book Fair
* Used Book Sale
* Coyote Book Club

Kids Korps

Kids Korps is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization that engages young people, ages 5 to 18, in community service, helping to instill a sense of giving in our children and developing leadership and responsibility. This is our third year at Sage Canyon and we have wonderful community service projects planned throughout the year. We hope you’ll be a part of it!

Our vision is to develop leaders for life through youth volunteerism. Sage Canyon’s Kids Korps http://sagecanyonkidskorps.wordpress.com/ is a club open to all Sage Canyon families. To inquire about applications and dues please contact Teresa Miller, Stacey Farfel, Rebecca Twomey or Lisa Aryan. All monies raised through Kids Korps are to fund Kids Korps’ projects.
