Special PTA General Association Meeting & Principal Update Friday, March 10 8:05a.m.
We are excited to schedule a special PTA General Association meeting on Friday, March 10 at 8:05 a.m. We do have PTA business to cover but are excited to share all of the successes and fun times our Coyotes have been busy with!

Jog-A-Thon, March 22nd
Each year, Sage Canyon’s students participate in an annual Jog-a-Thon to raise funds to support STEAM+ learning in our schools. This year’s jog-a-thon will be held on March 22 (rain date: March 29). Students will come out in groups and run laps around our field, led by our outstanding PE teacher, Mr. Tracy! It is a fun and physical way to help support our schools.
Funds raised go to the Del Mar Schools Education Foundation, to support the credentialed subject specialists who teach STEAM+ classes.
DMUSD is a “community funded” district and is predominantly funded by local property taxes. It receives less state funding than other districts. To ensure that the educational needs of our students and the expectations of the parents in the community are met, we need additional help from parents and local businesses to fund STEAM+ learning and help pay for the teachers in those subjects.
Each year, the DMSEF asks parents to contribute $800 per child, whether through direct giving, matching corporate contributions, or the contributions of friends and family in support of your child’s participation in Jog-a-thon. When your company matches with a $100 contribution or grandma and grandpa give $100 for the Jog-a-Thon, that counts toward your $800.
This year, we will again be offering prizes as incentives toward FUNdraising, including a Chromebook, a Kindle Fire, and more. Mark March 22 on your calendar and be ready to come out and support your child. And keep your eyes open for information on how to register your child on Pledgestar and start the FUNdraising in support of STEAM+.
